Grappling Dummy

An underused tool in mixed martial arts gyms is the grappling dummy. Most people look at it as something to throw, but there is much more.

Every MMA fighter uses the heavy bag to work standing striking. The grappling dummy should be used in the same way for ground fighting. You can hit full power without hurting a training partner. You can hold chokes to work on your constriction endurance. You can crank heel hooks as hard as you can and extend the arm bar past the point you can on a real person. Plus,  the workout is great for your cardio as you can go all out while mixing your striking and grappling techniques. And unlike training partners, it is available 24 hours per day. Using the grappling dummy might give you the edge over your next opponent!
