Atmosphere Live
BAMP Project presents Atmosphere: Freshwater Fly Fishermen Tour with special guests Brother Ali, deM atlas, Plain Ole Bill and Last Word performing live at The Republik Dec. 2-3. Starting at 1997’s Overcast, the group’s first official album, and traveling through 18 years of new albums, side projects (e.g. the Sad Clown series and Felt), and various collaborations, all the way up until 2014’s Southsiders album, Atmosphere’s music has evolved in a way that differs from many of their peers and predecessors. Live music continues its comeback on First Friday in Downbeat Lounge with hip-hop band The City Limits (with Creed Chameleon), garage pop act The Bougies and alt-rockers 82 Fifty. Failed Orbit Records presents the second Peach Kelli Pop Fundraiser Part II at Downbeat Lounge with love performances by Earl Grey, Kaiju Mixtape, Poncho, Strangers With Kandy and spoken word by Chris Bernstorf. Peach Kelli Pop is known for her catchy and tongue-in-cheek songs inspired by video games, Chinese food and conspiracy theorists, illustrating not only their playfulness but also her wit and her angst. Wine Tote Workshop 
Mori hosts a wine tote workshop with Pia + Michino from 3 to 5 p.m. Shibori is a Japanese indigo technique that dates back to the 8th century. There are many different ways you can create patterns by folding, binding, wrapping, stitching, and clamping fabrics that will resist the indigo dye, creating a beautiful design.  Register in person at Mori. Crown Royal Mixology Competition
Boasting a signature smoothness with a much-beloved flavor, Crown Royal Vanilla officially celebrates coming to Hawaii with a launch party and the Crown Royal Mixology Competition at 5:30 p.m. at Artistry Honolulu Event Center + Lounge. Romeo Valentine of 93.9 The Beat hosts the exciting evening that includes complimentary drinks and pupus, and Deejay HAPA BOY laying down beats. Mixologists will exhibit their skills using the smooth new flavor of Crown Royal Vanilla at the competition, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. First place bartender wins $500, second place $250, and third place $100. BAMP Project presents Astronautalis performing live at The Republik. It may sound like hyperbole, but there is truly no one out else there quite like Astronautalis. In addition to moonlighting as a travel writer, avid photographer, Harley ­rider, and most assuredly being the first rapper to perform and have a piece on display at the world famous Venice Biennale, this nomadic wordsmith has been perfecting his own unique hybrid of hip­hop, indie rock and punk for over a decade.
