Mistress of Reality — All-female Black Sabbath
Anna O’Brien’s Club presents Mistress of Reality, an all-female Black Sabbath group. Mistress Of Reality is the world’s first all-female band to bring the look and sound of early Black Sabbath to the live stage. Doors open at 8 p.m. and music starts at 9. Burlesque Workshops
Paradise Tango hosts Academy of Tease’s burlesque workshops throughout the afternoon. Learn the art of the tease with Honolulu Burlesque sensation, Lola Love in this one day burlesque intensive. This workshop is suited for beginner and intermediate students. A dance background is not required. Burlesque Bump & Grind is $20 and takes place from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. This workshop will help you develop walking with grace and poise, posing, hip movements, the shimmy and the classic grind. Burlesque Sass and Tease is $20 and takes place from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. In this fun workshop you will learn about infusing burlesque movement with facial expression, eye contact and connecting with the audience to enhance your peels and reveals. Learn techniques that will help elevate your performance (for those with experience) or teach you the basics of stage presence if you are new to burlesque. Sunset Mele on the Rooftop
Enjoy an evening of entertainment for the whole family at the Hawaiian Convention Center’s free Sunset Mele on the Rooftop series. Event begins at 5 p.m. with live entertainment by Kuaina. Minions screens at 6:30. Admission to “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” is free. Parking at the Hawaii Convention Center for the event is $5 per vehicle. Autocross Season Opens

16th Annual Chinatown Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday
Get ready for an international celebration of indulgence in rhythm, dance, costume and fine food in the Chinatown arts district starting at 6 p.m. Authentic music and carnival cheer will be in abundance with Reggie Padilla & The Stella Bean Bass Band, as well as Batucada CDO (Brazilian percussion ensemble) and Aloha Samba, roaming about the neighborhood and performing inside each participating venue. Honolulu’s longest-running indie rock night continues in February with Ivory City and The Maneki Nekos. Selections by DJ Jet Boy. Ivory City is a new indie rock group from Honolulu, influenced by M83, Explosions In the Sky and more. The Maneki Nekos’ sound could be described as bluesy garage-rock with a bit of soul, inspired by the likes of The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Radio Moscow, The Kills, and Band of Skulls.
