The Lab: Experiments in Photography
The 11th annual exhibition featuring the work of prominent and emerging Native Hawaiian artists at The ARTS at Marks garage. Curated by Healoha Johnson, The Lab: Experiments in Photography will feature the  photography work of Kapulani Landgraf, the MAMo Awardee for 2016, as well as two emerging photographers, Ualani Davis and Dru Hara.  Exhibit runs until May 28. Chocolate, Champagne and Couture For A Cause
Aloha United Way hosts Chocolate, Champagne and Couture For A Cause from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Hawaiian. The Chocolate, Champagne and Couture For A Cause fundraiser gives women a chance to pamper themselves and have a relaxing day with their girlfriends, all while helping AUW realize its mission to support our local community. Act II: A Fashion Reprise 
Hawaii Opera Theatre presents a fashionable way for patrons to support a local nonprofit organization through its popular fundraising event, Act II. Halekulani is turning up the volume of Hawaiian music in Waikiki with a complimentary schedule of live brunch performances. The events are part of this year’s 6th Annual Mele Mei — a celebration of Hawaiian music taking place from April through June. This week features KAIAO. Strung Out Live
BAMP Project presents Strung Out performing live at The Republik. Six years is the amount of time that has passed since Strung Out’s last album. The Southern California tech-punk quintet had been so reliable for two decades—write, record, tour, repeat cycle roughly once every two years—that to go this long without new music felt like cause for alarm.
