The Lab: Experiments in Photography
The 11th annual exhibition featuring the work of prominent and emerging Native Hawaiian artists at The ARTS at Marks garage. Curated by Healoha Johnson, The Lab: Experiments in Photography will feature the  photography work of Kapulani Landgraf, the MAMo Awardee for 2016, as well as two emerging photographers, Ualani Davis and Dru Hara.  Exhibit runs until May 28. Natasha Lillipore Hawaiian Paradise Pop-up Shop

Purple Rain Screening
The 1984 film Purple Rain will be presented at The ARTS at Marks Garage for one screening only starting at 10 p.m. Set against the subculture of the thriving Minneapolis music scene, Purple Rain is a film about a young musician tormented by an abusive situation at home, but struggling to rise above it through his music career — much of which is born of his torment. Tickets available at the bar at The ARTS at Marks Garage the night of. Kawehi Island Tour 2016
BAMP Project presents Kawehi performing live at The Republik. Hawaiian independent artist Kawehi (kuh-veh-hee) is known across the nation for her live  shows as a “one-woman band,” creating intricate loops via beatboxing, a guitar, a midi keyboard and Ableton Live. She is known for her opinionated songwriting, centering her music messages around social issue and injustices.  Show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $25 in advance, plus applicable fees, with an increase the day of the show. Mija — Sick AF 2.0 Tour
Electric Palms Hawaii presents Mija performing live at The Repubik. Mija began her career in her hometown Phoenix, where she became a full­time DJ in early 2012. Mija is quickly building a massive fan base from countries around the world. With her latest production “Crank It” feat. Lil Jon being released on record label OWSLA, she is making headlines on some of the biggest EDM websites out right now. May the Fourth Be With You
To celebrate “The May The Fourth Be With You International Star Wars Day” On The Spot Improv is hosting an event inspired by the fans with the help of gamers and actors. Event takes place at 6 p.m. at The ARTS at Marks Garage. Festivities include: board game demos of Star Wars X-wing, Imperial Assault; a trivia show; light saber training and fight demonstration by trainers from The Precision Parkour Hawaii Saber Academy; and a dramatic staged reading of Star Wars: A New Hope performed by actors. Danny Brown Live
BAMP Project and APB presents Danny Brown performing live at The Republik. After a series of important, local mixtapes, including the Detroit State Of Mind sequence, Danny released his breakout album The Hybrid in 2010. Glam-Tattoo Preview Party
Hawaii Opera Theatre (HOT) presents a fashionable way for patrons to support a local non-profit organization through its popular fundraising event, Act II. This event provides the opportunity to shop for couture and designer apparel, handbags, shoes, jewelry, art, home accents and more.
