Riff Raff Live
BAMP Project presents Riff Raff performing live at The Republik. Riff Raff started rapping in 2005, making homemade CDs of his rapping over other artists’ beats, and passing them out at various malls in Houston. Riff Raff first came on the scene in 2009 as a contestant on MTV’s From G’s to Gents, a competitive reality series where hardcore ballers tried to become sophisticates. Show starts at 8 p.m. and general admission is $32 in advance, plus applicable fees, with an increase the day of the show. Singing Competition
Honolulu’s premier nightlife attraction, Air Park Karaoke Lounge, will be holding a karaoke competition with preliminary rounds July 15. The finalists of these qualifying rounds will compete July 22 where one lucky winner will take home the grand prize and will be chosen to represent Air Park in the televised Hawaii Stars Singing Competition which will air on KHON2 Oct. 2. The Cure Live
Live Nation and BAMP Project present The Cure performing live at the Neal Blaisdell Arena July 16-17. “The Cure Tour 2016” will present Robert Smith (voice/guitar), Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O’Donnell (keys) and Reeves Gabrels (guitar) as they explore 37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favorites and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production that promises to be the ‘must see’ show of the year! The Cure Afterparty
For those wanting more of The Cure, Bar 35 hosts a special afterparty featuring DJs Rhombus, Night Fox, Nocturna and KSM. From the classics, some unreleased materials, the B-sides, dance remixes, to the more familiar and so much more as we honor and pay tribute to one of the best post punk/goth bands in the world with DJs who specializes in the genres. 46th Annual Ukulele Festival
Presented by Tony Group Autoplex and Pacific International Realty, the 46th annual Ukulele Festival features Ohta-San, Willie K, Kalei Gamiao, Paula Fuga, Herb Ohta Jr. and more. Goodwill Goes GLAM!
Goodwill Hawaii is pleased to announce that Kini Zamora, 2016 “Project Runway” All-Star contestant, will return to produce the fashion show on the opening night of the nonprofit’s annual event, Goodwill Goes GLAM! presented by Bank of Hawaii Foundation at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Event takes place July 21-24. The theme for the 2016 GLAM! fashion show is “Doll Me Up.” This year aspiring local designers, including students from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Maui College, Honolulu Community College and Kaimuki’s ME+U Sewing, are being invited to audition to be apart of Zamora’s GLAM! team.
