CONTACT 2016
Now in its third year, CONTACT 2016 was originally presented at the Honolulu Museum of Art School in April and May 2016 and is now being reinterpreted in a smaller exhibition at The ARTS at Marks Garage. It will be on display until Aug. 27. This year’s theme was Foreign and Familiar, exploring themes of cultural exchange and migratory movements, in and out of Hawaii, not attached to any particular time period in Hawaiiʻs history. 34th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival
Outrigger Hotels and Resorts invite kamaaina and visitors to enjoy the sweet and soulful sounds of the Hawaiian slack key guitar during Slack Key Jam 3 at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12 (kick-off) and noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 14 (festival). Slack Key Jam 3 is free and open to the public.
