Elle King Live
BAMP Project presents Elle King performing live at The Republik. Frank and fearless, tender and rowdy, Elle King’s debut album, LOVE STUFF marks the true arrival of the young singer/songwriter/guitarist/banjoist as a pop force to be reckoned with. 15th Annual Korean Festival in Hawaii
Experience Korean culture from the past and the present at the 15th Annual Korean Festival Aug. 26-27 at Honolulu Hale. Event takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 26 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 27. As one of the largest cultural festivals of the year in Hawaii, the Korean Festival will once again have the best flavors of Korea, entertainment and culture exhibits. Organizers expect over 30,000 people to attend. New to this year event is a liquor tasting tent featuring soju, makoli, beer and wine. The headliner for this year’s Korean festival is singer and actor Lee Jung, who will be performing during the evening. CONTACT 2016
Now in its third year, CONTACT 2016 was originally presented at the Honolulu Museum of Art School in April and May 2016 and is now being reinterpreted in a smaller exhibition at The ARTS at Marks Garage. It will be on display until Aug. 27. This year’s theme was Foreign and Familiar, exploring themes of cultural exchange and migratory movements, in and out of Hawaii, not attached to any particular time period in Hawaiiʻs history. Halo Halo Music Fest
Halo Halo Music Fest takes place from 4 to 10 p.m. at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Apl.de.ap, co-founder and member of the Grammy-award winning group The Black Eyed Peas, has been announced as the headliner of Hawaii’s Halo Halo Music Fest. In an effort to celebrate and recognize Filipino-American culture and the arts through music, dance, and entertainment, the festival will also feature Shar Carillo and Mikey Busto along many other local and national Filipino performers.
