Kenny Kinoshita is a long-time motorcycle riding…dating back to the 90’s, he’s run everything from motorbikes to choppers to his current 2014 Hardly Davidson Street Glide.  Throughout it all, he’s always had a passion for the two-wheeled variety.  This build, however, is something really special…a beautiful tribute to Kānāwai Māmalahoe, otherwise known as the Law of the Splintered Paddle.

The Law of the Splintered Paddle says, “Let every elderly person, woman and child lie by the roadside in safety”.  This is a fitting tribute because Kenny is also a member of the Sons of Hawaii which is one of Hawaii’s oldest motorcycle clubs. Established in 1953, the membership is few but select and all support the idea of being a community-oriented club, dedicated to safety, friends and family.

This stunning bike has been handcrafted by builder Jayson Soares of 66 Rides, with every piece meticulously selected to make an impact.  The overall paint scheme was painted by Hannibal Williams of Cycledelic Customs.  The colors were chosen for Ken’s favorite team, The Steelers, and the Sons of Hawaii, which are a deep gold and black with a mixture of red lace texturing and pinstriping for a simply luxurious effect.  The filigrees add a touch of royalty and the bike further celebrates the Native Hawaiian ancestry with the crossed paddles symbol sprinkled throughout the bike as accents.

The Bad Dad Competition Series body kit has been further customized to with smart modifications to accent the stunning paint as well as feature 4.5” CFR Megaphone exhausts that extend from the rear.  An American Suspension rake kit keeps the bike clean while helping to accommodate the SMT 26” steel front wheel and Fat Katz steel front fender.  SMT Floorboards continue alongside the bike…color matched to the engine’s black chrome theme.

The engine has been powder coated by Regal and matches perfectly with the SMT Floorboards alongside the bike.  Featuring a Woods Triple 8 cam, Kinoshita really has to hold onto the Torch Industries 14” handle bars when this baby gets up and goes.

Keeping everything comfortable is a Dirty Air front and rear air ride system mated to custom seatwork by Al’s Upholstery in matching black leather with red stitching.  The tunes are provided by Rockford Fosgate 6.5s up front with 4 6x9s located on and within the paired and color-matched saddle compartments.  It looks sleek, comfortable, and you definitely get the feeling that this is one heckuva ride.

For Kinoshita, capturing the spirit of riding free while respecting Hawaiian traditions is important.  Wherever he travels, he enjoys sharing the road with others while also riding one of the most stunning bikes around…as one with the wind, the ride, and the land.
