When Charlene Choo was growing up, you could have considered her to be a bit unique. Unlike many other girls her age, she was full on into loving domestic power. Her father was an automotive mechanic so it was only natural that she was learning how to gap spark plugs while others were worried about cracking their nails. Her first ride in high school was a Chevy II Nova with a 350 V8.

As you can see, she’s certainly not afraid to make a statement, which makes this 2006 RAGE R6sc Mustang an understandable enjoyment for her. This thing looks like a fighter jet on steroids.

Originally, Charlene and her family were looking for a black mustang for her son, Puna, at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. They happened upon the demo car for the RAGE R8sc, which was a hard-topped version of the one you see here. Although blown away by the very masculine form of the R8sc, Charlene knew what she wanted as soon as she saw a plain-jane convertible Mustang.

This ride started off as a V6 Mustang. The “RAGE” kit was procured and brought in for installation and paint. The exterior consists of modifications designed by Knudsen Automotive Design and includes a custom hood, left and right rockers, front and rear splitters as well as a custom grill insert for the front and rear. Of special note is the extremely elaborate five-piece rear wing that gives it a fighter-like appearance. Charlene was unhappy with the previous color, so the entire car has been re-painted in Torch Red.

The V6 engine has properly modified to accentuate the exterior styling with a 400+ HP package. Central to the install is A Pro-Charger Stage II Intercooled Supercharger with a three-stage aluminum intercooler. Ceramic intake pipes and a Ford Racing performance exhaust with 4-inch tips complete the performance install.

The suspension hasn’t been ignored and features a full Ford Racing handling pack featuring tuned shocks, struts and 1-inch drop lowering springs in addition to sway bars and more. The Weld Racing wheels are EVO BC-010s and cast off a magnificent shine thanks to their chrome plated construction.  With 20x9s in the front, and 20×10.5s in the rear, they’re fitted with BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDWs fitted at 255/35ZR20s and 27/35ZR20s in the rear.

With an exterior like this, you have to have the interior to match so the RAGE treatment has been extended to the cockpit. A custom dash with engine-turned aluminum has been added while the seats have been given a treatment of “diamond-tufted” Italian Katzkin Leather with embroidered RAGE logos all around.  The door inserts have been matched to the seats for an added bit of appeal.

Although the car is a total package, Charlene enjoys each intricate piece that makes up the whole.  She loves the detail of the kit, and the fact that she can enjoy evening drives with her family with the top down makes it all the more sweeter. And for this American Beauty, some sweet goodness is only a pedal away.
