Eddie Sabado is like most enthusiasts — he didn’t start off with the car of his dreams. In fact, he began with something a little less “wow” and a bit more pedestrian. Case in point, his first automobile was a ’92 Ford Escort. Although he learned how to drive on this car, his family members were huge modding enthusiasts. His dad used to race a Vega, while his cousin was into imports. So, it was only natural that he would graduate to something a little more unique.

This is where Sabado’s 2010 Honda Civic Si comes into play. Make no mistake about it: This electric dynamo is a difficult ride to miss. Lathered in Dino Blue Pearl, Sabado’s Honda is a shock to the system. It lights up the night with a gorgeous paint job and a choice mod, selected to be low and clean.

The exterior features improvements from HFP including a front lip, side skirts and a color-matched rear roof spoiler. The blue montage is spiced by some blue-flaked components with a made-to-fit WRX front and rear splitter and a sexy carbon fiber air duct. JDM Honda emblems with gold overlays replace the OEM versions while JDM Stanley DC5 side-markers indicate how hot this ride is.

The fenders have been rolled smartly to allow some serious tuck with the CCW LM5s with 17×9.5 +19 with a 3.5-inch lip in the rear. These wheels are blinding and feature some sexy Sickspeed gold spike lug nuts. The tuck is absolutely mean thanks to the almost expected inclusion of an Airrex Air Suspension system combined with a Skunk2 Rear Camber kit.

Marshall Lum, who’s credited for the incredible rear air setup that he combined with an audio component, is responsible for the installation of the Airrex kit. Mixed and matched with the Tiffany Blue Airrex components is a custom floor featuring a 10-inch Memphis Sub. The entire trunk is highlighted with LED blue accents, which light the emblazoned logo with an ethereal glow.

The fun doesn’t stop there as one look inside the interior reveals a smorgasbord of sweet components that really provide character for the cabin. Everything from door inserts, the armrest, shift boot and the seats has been replaced with BRIDE versions.  Most notable is the absolutely enormous Bubble Shift Knob complemented by a total wheel replacement with the NRG Quick Release Hub and Grip Royal Steering Wheel. An NRG Harness Bar provides great support for any spirited driving.

Some pep has been given to the engine courtesy of a gorgeous Weapon R short ram intake as well as a catback Tanabe Exhaust. For the most part, however, this car is about the slam — and it didn’t come easy for Sabado. Being so fresh out of high school, he had to work hard and save up enough cash to piece together this spectacular ride.

Although his Honda Civic isn’t complete, Sabado has had to take a few steps back recently to concentrate on raising his family. With a daughter on the way, he’s operating in a larger, more family-suitable Lexus these days. That doesn’t take anything away from this stanced Civic Si, though, as it’s still taking trophies with the best of them.
