Chance Customs has been around the block a few times. Since opening in 2007, Francis Sua and his team have created some amazing vehicles as well as collaborating on some of the wildest projects to hit the asphalt on Oahu. Primarily recognized as a suspension shop, Chance Customs has also been known to dabble in a little bit of everything in the automotive world and isn’t afraid to tackle new projects.

One such project is this 1993 GMC Sierra. The truck’s owner is low-key and prefers to remain anonymous, but Francis firmly believes in showing off the owner’s toys when the opportunity arises. Chance Customs uses this stunning collaborative project as a showcase for its modding capabilities. Truthfully, you couldn’t ask for a better rolling advertisement.
To start with, every panel of this slammed green monster was removed and prepped for paint by Automotive Concepts. The color is Irish Green and filled with gold flakes as well as a gold base coat that absolutely screams “Emerald City!” Pinstripe by Colin laid the fantastic pin striping and gold leaf that help accent the automobile’s shimmering paint.
While the truck panels were being prepped for paint, Chance Customs got to work. The team pulled the stock engine and gave it a full rebuild, including polishing and chroming every single part of the motor. The suspension was tackled head on with KP Components upper and lower control arms mated to Slam Specialties airbags in the front and rear. Viair compressors, Parker air valves, AVS airtanks, gauges and a switchbox were then installed to create the truck’s slammed stance.

Of special note is the custom airtank install located in the trunk. Painted to resemble a Monster can, the air tank adds a unique flair. The bedwork was taken to the max by ensuring that it was completely re-fabricated and then coated by Pamalu. The entire setup is protected and concealed by a powered Gaylord Tonneau cover.

For the interior, Al’s Auto Upholstery replicated the look of a ’66 Impala with low-cut bench seats, black upholstery with green stitching throughout including the door panels and roof liner. Al’s also painted the previous blue interior black. Housed in the rear compartment are two enormous 15-inch Rockford Fosgate T1s mated to T1000 amps in a custom wall enclosure. Built at competition level, the subwoofers will wreck your eardrums if given a chance. The truck’s front windshield was its first casualty and double-pane glass has since been installed all around.
Tucked under the gorgeous wheel openings are 22-inch Diablo Elites that are color-matched and wrapped in Kumhos. Hidden beneath the wheels are upgraded rotors and brake pads to increase stopping power while cruising the streets.

Francis and his team at Chance Customs has put so much work put into this slammed Sierra that I can’t possibly highlight each of its features. The reality is that this is a special vehicle created by a fantastic group of people for a wonderful man and his family. Francis gives props to Chris Galutira, Michael Agasiva, George Dumlao and the original Chance Customs crew as well as his family and friends for their support. He also credits the owner of the truck and his family for being great customers, friends and allowing him to showcase this beauty.
