There are several new paint technologies that are starting to come to the forefront of the modification scene. One of these is called dip and it’s a type of peelable paint solution. It works on practically everything — from wheels and fenders to the entire body of a car.

One person who didn’t think twice about dipping when it came time to giving his 2010 Lexus GS350 a makeover was Chris Fajardo.

Encouraged by his peers to enter the mod scene, Fajardo started with a modified Corolla, but eventually traded up to the Lexus. At first, he had no intention of modifyng the GS350, but soon became “addicted” to the process. His first modification involved Richie from DMC Suspensions installing Air Runner struts as well as a seamless airtank filled by two Matte black Viair 444C compressors.

Next, Fajardo added super sexy WORK Gnosis GS5 wheels that feature a very nice stepped rim. He continued his modification efforts with the installation of an HKS Hi-Power Exhaust, aftermarket headers and a Joe-Z intake.

But as wonderful as the struts, wheels and rims are, the car’s beauty really shines because of its amazing dipped exterior. By chance, Fajardo met London Fee of Dip Hawaii and the result is what you see plastered across these pages. Fee recognized the Lexus as the perfect canvas for a “new skool vs old skool” project thanks to its clean lines. For 30 days straight, he worked on this car and the end result is obvious. Sections of the dip are accented with interior artwork custom sprayed in Mardi Gras Color Shift Pearl. As a result, the car has won many awards in the liquid wrap industry.

Even the wheels were given full attention and disassembled, painstakingly dipped in gold and then re-assembled. A lace motif was chosen for the wheels and they are absolutely spectacular. The trunk features the very clean air suspension setup while under the hood rests another work of art. The engine plastics for this car have been given the VIP treatment as well and feature a yin-yang motif created by Aaron from aklkgrafix that really boasts a bit of cultural flair under the hood.

In all, Fajardo’s ride best represents all that’s beautiful and current in wrap technology.
