Mike Arellano has owned enough vehicles, including an ’87 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, to prove he’s a long-standing lowrider enthusiast. But Arellano also has a deep appreciation for custom bikes. In fact, his appreciation turned to fascination when he took the challenge of bringing the lowrider-bagged concept to bikes.

“At first I was scared,” he admitted. “But finally, I just said, ‘Bikes are bikes. If you wanna try it, try it.’”

This 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King became the perfect base for Arellano’s full custom build — a process that has rendered the bike practically unrecognizable from its stock origins. Arellano said he chose the Road King due to the lack of the large sized fairings and the clean sleek front. He took his time choosing parts, but thanks to the craftsmanship of Jay Soares of 66 Rides, the bike has come together beautifully.

Beginning at the bike’s rear and making his way forward, Arellano installed a Dirty Air front and rear suspension that allows this baby to touch the ground at a glance. Nestled amid it is the worked HD twin cam 96 motor featuring a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission. Tech Coatings did the honors of powder-coating select parts of the bike.

A Bad Dads stretched gas tank shroud came soon after. The high-tech Bagger Nation stretched and raked nacelle headlight was fit to the custom rake modified with Pickard USA to plus 9 degrees with Arlen Ness Hidden axel forks. What’s hard to miss is the enormous 26-inch SMT wheel with massive VEE Rubber at 120/50-26 inches while Arellano takes control, thanks to the super-tall 16-inch Azzkikr Guerilla Barz. The gorgeous saddle is also custom thanks to Al’s Upholstery and sits amid a pair of Bad Dads Competition rear fender and saddlebags.

Arellano is really proud of his chosen color scheme. He’s not a huge fan of flashy graphics, preferring to keep things clean and smooth. He took the time to sketch the paint concept he saw in his mind and then Junk Shop Pros laid the gorgeous red and black foundation. DJ Wish (aka Mike Quering) then laid the stunning pin-striping by hand and from memory. The end result is absolute badness.

This bike has been through two iterations. But this time around, Arellano wanted to build a crowd pleaser. It started with a vision in his head and soon became a reality.   Known as “Sinner,” the bike is one of Arellano’s proudest accomplishments.

“Just seeing it out in person, it just feels amazing to me,” he said.
