Christopher Calimlim’s stunning ride has graced the pages of Street Pulse before — however, you would be hard pressed to recognize it from its first appearance as a red rocket. This 1998 Toyota Supra has been through a complete metamorphosis from the bottom up, resulting in a crafted carbon creation that is essentially legendary at this point.

No longer coated in Renaissance Red, the car is now predominately carbon fiber supplied by Shine Auto Project. This isn’t your usual carbon fiber build. Calimlim wanted to stand out at a totally different standard — and not one that was just all out power.

Featuring a one-of-one carbon fiber wide body Ridox kit, practically the entire façade is now graced by clear-coated CF goodness from the front splitter, canards and bumpers, to the fenders and side skirts. The over fenders and roof spoilers are just a few of the multiple items — including parts from Seibon — that come together in a symphony of components that will leave your jaw slack.

While cruising the dark streets, both the headlights and taillights are exquisite with the rear tails allowing for a custom setup of four or two lit bezels. The resulting look turns this stealth bomber into a rocket ship with illuminated contrails speeding through the night.

The interior is all function with focus placed on the steering while the rear trunk is a simple show-off of the installed air system. The exhibited drop is provided by a combination of Accuair and Air Force Suspension, which allow the vehicle to be dropped to just naughty levels. The wheels are ADVAN Racing RZIIs, coated in Toyo rubber are ultimate perfection. Their wide spoke pattern allows full view of the R1 Concepts big brake kit, which absolutely gleams thanks to the gold, red and black theme.

The changes to this ride aren’t purely cosmetic — the already potent engine modifications (primarily a Boost Logic Stage 2 turbo kit) are now complemented with built internals, an upgraded fuel system, and a standalone ECU now allows for more than 500 wheel horsepower (WHP). The dyno before internals was 495 WHP, so this is an underestimation of expected power. To handle the power, the transmission and the diff have also been upgraded.

There’s so much that could be covered if only the space was available. The modification list is extensive and very little has been left unmodified. Supras are already known for their absolute gobs of formidable power and to stand out among them, you need to be a bit unique. However, this ride has made the cut — becoming well known as that “Carbon Supra from Hawaii.”

At this stage, Calimlim is representing Hawaii on the world stage — a fact that’s not lost on him. Thanks to his sponsors and friends, he’s really been able to take this Supra to another level. When he set out to evolve his build, he kept his motto in-line with his license plate — For The Win. Absolutely.
