It seems that many of us become involved in the automotive at a young age.  At age 12, Jared Tomisato used to hang out with the Hypersports crew at the now closed Hawaii Raceway Park. His tenure introduced him to the world of motorsports as well as cars in general. Right after high school, he rolled in a ’91 Honda Civic Si, which he built by himself in his garage.  After blowing his transmission at the strip, he completed his first motor swap, and jumped feet first into the tuning world.

Shortly after this, he began working at Progressive Auto Sounds and became engrossed in the car audio scene.  His focus was centered on promoting the audio scene while enjoying it at the same time.  He put on frequent sound off events that concentrated on measuring decibel levels, which is a very technical side of the scene.

After his previous ride was totaled in a freeway accident, Jared purchased this daily driven 2008 Infiniti G35 and hasn’t looked back.  The ride has been in constant development and was chosen due to its aggressive yet sleek looks.

The starting build was mild with only a set of drop springs and a front lip plus a set of 20-inch wheels.  As time went on, he went through several sets of wheels before ending up with the I-forged Aero Wheels at 20×8.5 in the front with 20x11s in the rear, all fitted with Falken Tires.  Jared was content to cruise in this configuration until misfortune took an eye to the car.

Originally painted a factory black, the car was involved in several accidents.  In an attempt to stave off future incidents, Jared had the vehicle painted by GX Auto in a Pearl Metallic that simply pops.  Continuing the exterior build, the car features a Stillen roof spoiler, a 2013 G37 sedan trunk spoiler, blacked out headlight housings, and tinted tail lights.  Adding a bit of stealth to the ride is a jet-black roof, window trims, and black chrome grills and front bumper cutouts.

The car’s performance modifications are light but well chosen including a custom painted Akebono big brake kit, custom cut double-slotted and dimpled rotors by Adam’s.  Megan coilovers now feature prominently for a nice stance and a Stillen Gen 3 cold air intake is just visible through the front grill.  A custom exhaust featuring 2.5-inch piping with an X-pipe mates to Megan mufflers and produces a healthy growl.

The real focus in this ride is the ICE (In-Car Entertainment).  As an audiophile, Jared’s setup includes two RE Audio SX10 subwoofers firing forward.  Zapco competition amplifiers power the custom front door speakers with 350 watts and 2200 watts to the rear subs.  Additional Zapco “i” series amps power the rear doors at 60 watts per door.  3 Kinetik HC 1200 batteries provide ample power without killing his alternator.  The subs are enclosed in a custom box featuring Plexiglas alongside custom beauty panels.  The box is lit by stunning blue LEDs and throws off some serious glow to go along with the sound.

Jared’s ride has placed prominently in several shows including taking 1st Place in the Infiniti class at SPOCOM 2013 and looks forward to using his experiences to build bigger and better. He’d like to give special thanks to his girlfriend Ashlyn for putting up with his hobby, his family and friends and the rest of the companies for the support.
