Spinning Back Kick

This is a great example of a technique that was not used in early MMA because everyone thought it was too dangerous. The trick, as in most techniques, is timing.

If you fight with your left foot forward, it is best to throw the spinning back kick when your opponent is circling towards your left. That way, he will walk right into the kick when you spin. It is usually best to throw a jab first to distract him, then make a tight rotation, peek to see the target, and try to bury your heel in his liver. The kick is devastating, either dropping the opponent or giving you an opening to finish the fight.
