Blaisdell Exhibition Hall
The fifth annual Hawaii Cannabis Expo will be held Feb. 7-9. Tickets for Friday’s event from 1 to 7 p.m. are $5 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
Experience art, fashion and music from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday night throughout the Hawaii State Art Museum. In addition, Substantial Art & Music will facilitate an Indie 101 workshop at the museum Saturday, Feb. 8 from noon to 2:30 p.m. for artists, creative people and entrepreneurs to learn about social media marketing, grant opportunities and crowdfunding. The workshop is free but registration is required.
Crown The Empire
Crown The Empire with special guests Volumes will play this show for ages 18 and up with doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 with $4.87 service fee. Other events this week include a 4v4 Call of Duty Modern Warfare Variant Tournament on Feb. 8 from noon to 5 p.m. and more. Check the website for other concerts.

Saturday, Feb. 8
South Shore Market
Join a free watercolor workshop with Binnie Keum of Elua Hawaii Treasures, using salt and other materials to add texture. There is no pre-registration necessary while supplies last, but to participants can secure a spot by registering. In addition, join Mori from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8 for the opening reception of its monthly local artist showcase featuring The Helm Studio.
Listen to the musician play “Stripped Down” starting at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $90 to $105.
Year of The Rat
Koko Marina Center
Celebrate Chinese New Year from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include a demonstration by Gee Yung International Martial Arts, an appearance by the Narcissus Queen and her Court, and calligraphy with Ina Chang (pictured), a lion dance and more. (kokomarinacenter.com)
The Elevations Hawaii
The group will play a special Valentine’s show called “Songs in the Key of Love.” The show for ages 18 and over starts at 9 p.m. with doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 presale and $15 at the door. Love and Light
A celebration and funeral expenses fundraiser for local house DJ Daniel J. who recently passed away will be held from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. The show is for ages 21 and up and there is a $20 minimum donation at the door.
Cherry Blossoms, music
A public appearance by the Cherry Blossom Festival contestants, queen and court celebrating Japanese culture will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the mall’s Center Court. It will be followed by a performance by 80 members from the University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra from 2 to 3 p.m.
Duke’s Canoe Club
Open up a new chapter in your musical songbook with the group who will perform from 9:30 to midnight. In addition, Kapena is scheduled to play from 4 to 6 p.m.
Hearts and Crafts
Ka Makana Alii
Support local vendors and find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift at Hearts and Crafts from 1 to 7 p.m. throughout the center. A portion of the proceeds will go to The American Heart Association of Hawaii. In addition, with every purchase you will receive an entry form for a chance to win a pair of tickets and valet parking to the Mariah Carey concert at the Blaisdell Arena on March 10. Next, enjoy the sounds of live music with Kamaka Camarillo and Kamuela at Makana Mele from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Center Court.
Chinese New Year
Hawaii Kai Towne Center
Starting at 11 a.m. the center will celebrate with a performance from the Wah Ngai Lion Dance Association. There will also be a martial arts demonstration at this free event.
Sunday, Feb. 9
The Re-Up (Recycle-Upcycle) event featuring a vintage and secondhand flea market will be held on Nuuanu Avenue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Chinatown. Admission is free to the event. A special brunch menu by Encore Saloon and The Daley Burger will be available.
Maui Brewing Co.
The pair will play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the company’s Waikiki location. In addition, Joe McMurray will perform from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 10
Manoa Valley Theatre
Hear local songstress Ginai present a show titled, “Gone But Not Forgotten — The music of Nancy Wilson, Lena Horne, and Carmen McRae.” Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. with bar service available. Tickets are $40.
Listen to the Pau Hana Blues Band play from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday at OnStage Drinks and Grinds. In addition, Kevin Coleman and The Flat Five will perform on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the same location.
Tuesday, Feb. 11
Blue Note Hawaii
As part of Henry Kapono’s Artist To Artist concert series, Valentine will share classic love songs, and tunes from some of Hawaii’s biggest acts. The show will include a jam session with Kapono and more. Show time is 7 p.m. with doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are VIP booth plus meet and greet $275, VIP seating meet and greet $65, VIP seat $45, table and booth seating $35, bar area $25.

HI Tide Nation will present Melvin Seals and Jerry Garcia Band Featuring John Kadlecik. From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Seals serves up a mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up. Tickets are premium seating $57.83, loge seating $47.63, bar area $37.31. The show is at 6:30 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m.
